American Crusade 2001+ Filesharing GuideWhat's available: High-quality versions of the American Crusade trading cards. Why bother? Printing them on T-shirts, posters and cardstock looks far better with 200K PNG files than with 40K JPGs. Where are the files? I'm told the first sheet of 9 cards is available on the KaZaA P2P network. Search for American Crusade. It should be a 1.8 megabyte PNG file arranged as a 3x3 sheet of 9 cards: George Bush, Bush as Superhero, Dick Cheney w/oil tattoos, Paul Wolfowitz, Tom Ridge, Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Osama bin Laden and The Evil One. Any guidelines? When you download the file(s), play nice and share with others on the network. Spread the files far and wide. And if you put them on another network (WinMX, Freenet, etc), drop us some mail and we'll post the notice on this page so others can know where to look. Uzbekistan's Islam Karimov is my favorite. Where the hell is he? The other 56 cards are all coming soon. Be patient. Is this legal? Yes, 100%. We here at the Infinite Jest created the cards and we encourage distributing them as widely as possible, as they present a dissenting view that desperately needs voicing right now. Moreover, using P2P networks to distribute political speech legitimizes their use, so the courts should find it harder to claim that they are merely tools for piracy. Why not just post the high-quality images on the Infinite Jest website? We can't take the huge bandwidth hit all by ourselves, but if everybody helps distribute the images, the burden can be easily shared. That's the beauty of P2P. So do your part as a responsible citizen of the world and help distribute. Be a civic savior! Copyright 2002 by the Infinite Jest Satire Collective: www.infinitejest.org |
